About
Hayley Bilski
I grew up in South Africa, and graduated from the University of the Witwatersrand with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work in 2000.
After graduating I spent a number of years working in the UK and South Africa, largely focused on fostering and adoption, individual and family therapy and adolescent counselling in various high schools.
In 2011 my family and I moved to Australia. I worked for a number of years as a private practitioner at headspace national youth mental health foundation, engaging in individual and family therapy with young people, aged 12 to 25 years old.
I run a private practice in St Ives Chase and the Northern Beaches, specialising in working with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, self-esteem, peer relationship issues, gender identity challenges, confusing life choices, career needs, bullying and school or work concerns.
Other issues which may not be listed above can also be explored. In office and outdoor nature sessions are available.
I also enjoy running various groups involving self-esteem building, career guidance, stress management, personal growth and awareness. Therapeutic engagement includes Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Compassion-Focused Therapy and working with the client to understand each individual's needs and resonance.
I encourage a supportive, compassionate and non-judgmental space during therapy.
I am an advanced Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers and a supervisor for other allied health professionals such as psychologists and social workers.
